Rivian is an American electric vehicle manufacturer and automotive technology and outdoor recreation company. Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles they build, and the curious, courageous souls they seek to attract.

I worked as a contractor with their internal communications team of 4, producing employee engagement material, from newsletters, to open enrollment, to supporting ERGs and employee spotlights. Our small team was responsible for employees feeling connected to Rivian's mission. Expanding on the corporate brand to bring team member voices to the forefront and build a sense of belonging, enabling employees to do their best work. Creating simple animations and illustrated assets for wider communications felt like an authentic way to bring an earthier tone to Rivian's adventurous spirit.

I worked closely with the corporate communications to produce regular content highlighting different employees, teams, and belonging groups. We created digital signage for different Heritage month celebrations to increase a feeling of employee belonging and engagement.

Gear Guard illustration updates

I was tasked with adding some safety equipment: a security badge, hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves, and boots in the same style as the character originally developed by Zachariah OHora.
