While I worked at The Onion, I produced three different local sections, creating unique, city-specific layouts as well as designing the national A.V. Club section that I then distributed to each of the production designers for use in all editions. The final component of my duties was completing all the post-production for two of the editions, including ad placement and pagination, creating final files and pushing them to the printer.
I was thrilled to be putting my production chops to work and churning out multiple weekly editions. I also took it upon myself to devise a solution to archiving the large amount of stock images used into a usable, searchable library. I loved working with such a dedicated team with meticulous attention to detail.
My favorite highlight was being able to create a layout that compared Snookie and Sarah Palin.
